Comments - I heard reports over on reddit that Henry Weinhard's Root Beer would be discontinued shortly. Sadly, I wasn't sure I would make it over to Pops in Arcadia to grab one, so I went ahead and grabbed a 6 pack at my local Reasors grocery store. I find this one interesting. It does not smell good. It has a hint of smell more along the lines of Abita or Yacht Club, but there is no matching flavor. It tastes quite good, albiet generic. It's not particularly strong, but also not boring. We'll see how I enjoy the subsequent bottles.

Comments - Perhaps I was too harsh on 1896 or Bundaberg. There is nothing redeemable about this. While I recognize this is a root beer flavored kumbucha rather than a class root beer soda, there’s not a single hint of root beer in whatever is going on here. The flavors remind me of the homemade root beer kit I made last winter, which my friend let me know had become rancid. If I could give it a negative score, I would.

Comments - So good! Sad they didn’t have any cans for the road, but the bartender said they have them available at the farmers market. Might try and find that before leaving town tomorrow!

Comments - At the start of my journey into discovering new brands, I found this. It remained at the top of my list for months. Finally, giving it a second try, I am saddened to say it will be moving down into second place, below Maple Sprecher. But it is a close second. This one is strange. It’s very candy-like in flavor. I can’t really liken it to any other root beer I’ve tried. It’s very sugary, but not in a negative way. Honestly, I love it.
