May 1st!

It's officially been over 2 months since I started working on Root Beer HQ. I am super proud of all the site has accomplished. The idea began last summer and it took a long time for me to gain the courage to do anything with it. One day, I was on vacation and was frustrated with the lack of info on local root beers Google had to offer me. By the time I returned home, I also still failed to receive any comments on my Reddit post asking for recommendations. This was when I decided it was time to get working.

In late February, I ended up re purposing my old college journalism Wix site into this. It was actually incredibly simple. Within a few weeks I had hundreds of locations mapped out and was beginning to look at the community side of the site. In early April, I was selected to join the 2025 Spring Cohort for Builders & Backers. Through the first two sessions, I've learned invaluable information about what it means to bring a start-up to life. I am looking forward to how things will go within that class and beyond. At the start of the month, I also debuted a new logo, done by a longtime friend of mine. After a few revisions, we landed on the logo below, and even launched a temporary merch page!

Throughout April, I've continued to update the website with new locations, thanks to all the submissions from members! There are great things on the horizon and I am excited to share as we expand and move forward. Thank you again to all who have participated and assisted in the development of this site.
